Community in Action: Leading Local's Spring Sessions

The Leading Local workshop series has covered a lot of ground this spring — from understanding how local government works to opening the door to transparency. Now, we're finishing the spring series with two sessions that connect the dots how people create the community they want to see. Join us from 5-7 PM for:

  • Tuesday, June 9 at the Winona County Historical Society | Volunteerism & Mutual Aid — Hear from a panel of community members who saw a need and built something in their community. Come learn from their stories and explore what's possible when neighbors show up for each other.

  • Tuesday, June 23 at Sobieski Lodge | Community Power — A conversation about how everyday people can work together to co-create local solutions and drive real, positive change.

All are welcome, snacks are provided, and RSVPs are appreciated.

Leading Local, a partnership between Engage Winona and the Winona Post, will be back with more workshops in the fall - share your input on what you’d like to see here!

Summer Is Better Together — Winona Together Returns!

  • September 8 | How Can YOU Be Part of Creative Community Engagement? — in partnership with The Joy Labs

This series is made possible by the generosity of Peter's Biergarten, the Winona Eagles Club, Riverside Integrated Solutions, and Alerus Bank of Winona.

Good Work Deserves a Party — Kitchen Table's Spring Finale

The Winona Area Kitchen Table — a cohort of community members who have been working to prevent housing crises by advocating for creating communities where everyone has a safe, stable place to call home — is closing out their programming with two final events.

On Wednesday, June 17 from 5–7 PM at the Winona County History Center, join us for Homeownership 101 in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Serving Winona County. Whether you're just starting to think about homeownership or ready to take the next step, this session will help you feel informed and confident about the journey ahead.

Then, on Wednesday, July 22, 5–7 PM, with a brief program beginning at 5:30, come celebrate the achievements of the Kitchen Table with a wrap party and film screening at the Winona County Historical Society, 160 Johnson St. Refreshments provided — save the date!

See You on the Block — August 13!

Engage Winona's Community Block Party returns on August 13, 4–6 PM at Maplewood Townhomes! This free neighborhood celebration features activities for all ages, food, local organizations sharing resources, and plenty of space to meet your neighbors and make new friends. Everyone is welcome!

Thanks to the generous support of the Winona Eagles Club, the Joy Labs, the Winona Rotary Club, the Impact Center, and United Way of Southeast Minnesota!
