Engage Winona welcomes new staff members

We’re thrilled to introduce two new staff members: NDea Young and Dan Wilson! NDea and Dan join us as we launch Winona Area Kitchen Table, a new program to address housing instability in Winona County. Learn more about each of them below, and check out our full staff on our About page.

NDea Young

NDea, our new Program Associate, loves developing strong connections with people and is skilled at interacting with people from all walks of life. She has experience as a Community Health Worker and worked in human resources and as a team member in retail. Her education includes an Associates degree in HR Management from Saint Paul College and a Certification in Community Health from Normandale College.

NDea is results-oriented and is known for leadership, self-motivation, determination and empathy, and is passionate about helping others. She is committed to ongoing professional development and seeking new challenges where she can continue to make a positive impact on the community. NDea is an alumni from the Jeremiah Program, which works to disrupt the cycle of poverty for single mothers and their children. NDea's experience in the program changed her life, and set her on a path to success and giving back to the community. She is currently working on a youth podcast and loves spending time with her kids Skylar and Gabriel

Get to know NDea:

Favorite comfort food? I’m a foodie, so it’s so hard to decide. I like crab legs!

Best advice anyone's ever given you? Maya Angelou said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

Favorite street in Winona? Third and Huff, because that’s where Blooming Grounds Express is! I love their blueberry chai.

Why are you excited to work at Engage Winona? I think the mission and vision of Engage Winona aligns with who I am as a person. I like to always learn and grow and give back. I see myself never being bored and always learning!

Dan Wilson

Dan Wilson, our new Policy Assistant, lives just south of Winona where he rotationally grazes dairy heifers on a farm with his spouse and young daughter. Before he started farming, he lived and worked at the Bethany House in Winona helping folks find housing and community in Winona. Dan has volunteered with many nonprofits in Winona and across the country, all of which have focused on empowering marginalized communities. Dan is excited to bring his skills and passion to the work of Engage Winona.

Send a note to welcome Dan at dan@engagewinona.org!

Get to know Dan:

Favorite comfort food? Ice cream!

Best advice anyone's ever given you? "Those closest to the problem are the closest to the solution."

Favorite street in Winona and why? High Street, because it is the highest street in Winona!

Why are you excited to work at Engage Winona? The biggest problems require all of our collective wisdom in order to find the best solution. Engage Winona has been collecting Winona's wisdom for the past seven years, and I am excited to be a part of these conversations!
